As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good to bring about this present outcome, that many people would be kept alive as they are this day. Genesis 50:20
50:20 Vision
"The Rest of the Gospel: When the Partial Gospel Has Worn You Out" by Dan Stone calls the above verse: 50:20 vision.
It is seeing the world from God's Kingdom view through the mind of Christ instead of our selfish view.
Past Reality
By speaking to his brothers, as revealed in the above verse, the first part of Joseph's view exposed the past reality of what his brothers did to him.
He didn't minimize it, sugarcoat it, or ignore it.
Joseph didn’t deny the offense; he denied the offense a place of sin in his life. He didn't allow sin against him to produce sin in him.
By forgiving his brothers, he redeemed the offense and restored the relationship!
Present Reality
The second major part of Joseph's view was to see how it was about more than his or his brother's lives.
God allowed each offense, coupled with Joseph's response, to lead him to the present reality of many saved lives, including the lives of his family, people in Egypt, and the surrounding countries.
Future Reality
The third major part of Joseph's vision included the future reality of God's promise of a Messiah through his family.
50:20 Vision includes the fullness of God's vision for the past, present, and future.
It sees much more than just our life; it sees God's heart of redemption and restoration to those He came to seek and save.
You cannot have 50:20 Vison looking through the lens of selfishness.
How are you viewing your everyday walking around life?
How would you say your life's ambitions and dreams are eternally changing the lives of those around you?
Lord, may we be single-eyed, only seeing Your way and heart in everything we do. Every action, mindset, and word be proper for building up Your kingdom--not ours. Amen
