Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life]. II Corinthians 5:17
A Total Transformation
Auto manufacturers have bolted on turbochargers for years to extract more engine horsepower. A turbocharger forces more air into the fuel injection system, allowing more fuel to be burned.
The result is more explosions, so more power.
So, what does this have to do with Jesus?
This is how most people who follow Jesus operate in their new life.
Instead of recognizing that they have a new power source and new life, they bolt on their new "faith" to their old way of thinking and expect new results.
We received a new vehicle that can operate entirely in the manufacturer's original purposed design.
Our new life in Christ is not an improvement on our old life. It is a total transformation!
We are the beloved of the Father, Jesus is our life, and the Holy Spirit empowers us now.
There is nothing to add, only trust and follow.
Reviewing your life, how do you see who you are in light of what Christ has done?
Who is Jesus to you?
Lord, may the grace of Jesus, our Father's love, and the Holy Spirit's fellowship be with us. Amen
