Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7
Clean The Mirror
I am convinced that most followers of Jesus cannot see themselves as God does.
A mirror is simply a reflection device. It is not us, but it reflects our image.
Is your mirror dirty or fogged?
Does it have remnants of makeup you have used to cover your perceived imperfections?
Are you looking at yourself in a no-stoplight town gas station mirror smeared by the many people who have passed through your life and left their fingerprints distorting your image?
Or is your mirror fogged up by circumstances that have caused condensation without an exhaust fan to see yourself?
So what is the solution?
Clean the mirror.
Read what He says about you in His word.
If you are a child of God through your faith in Jesus Christ, He has cleansed you of all sin.
He has proclaimed you holy, blameless, sanctified, and forgiven.
You are a new person.
Nothing you can do will decrease or increase His "I died for you" value that He proclaims over your life.
You have been cleansed, so clean your mirror so that you may see yourself as He does.
In what ways does how you see yourself contradict what God says about you in His word?
Lord, thank You for making us new. For cleansing us of all unrighteousness, leaving only Your righteousness. Give us eyes to see Your beauty in us and others. Amen
