Rejoice always, pray continually, and give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. First Thessalonians 5:18
Give Thanks
When it is good, You give thanks for it. When it is bad, You give thanks in it. But always give thanks. Tony Evans
Have you found this to be true in your life?
Do you desire to be more thankful yet see what is missing or what didn't go your way?
Do you sometimes catch yourself complaining and wondering what is wrong with you?
To both rejoice and give thanks in all circumstances, you must believe this life is not yours.
Do you realize how much freedom is present when you can rejoice and give thanks in every circumstance?
(Stop and think about that last statement)
You are no longer led by your circumstances but by the life of Jesus Christ in you.
When you realize that you've been crucified with Christ and that you no longer live, but Jesus Christ lives in you, you will know freedom and can give thanks in every circumstance.
Why is that?
Because dead men don't have problems!
You have been crucified with Christ and are now dead to your agenda and plans, desiring to do the will of Abba Father.
There are no circumstances in this life where God says we cannot give thanks to Him because we know that our lives in Him will bring Him glory through every trial, tribulation, and circumstance.
What needs to change in your life to experience this reality?
In what ways have circumstances dictated your attitudes?
How would knowing “you are dead” change your relationships?
Lord, show us You are our life. Reveal the fullness of all You have created us to be in You. May we stop considering this our life and know that your life is being lived out through us to Your glory. Amen
