For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, you will also appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:3-4
God Doesn’t Want Your Best
God doesn't want your best...now that probably got your attention!
So, you may ask, "So, you are saying He wants my worst?"
Nope.
He wants all of you to be infused by all of Him, His life!
His promise is much more than where we are 'trying' to live.
Jesus didn't come to make bad people good or good people 'gooder'.
He came to make dead people alive!
Alive people who are called and empowered to change the world.
We often get so focused on our self-improvement or our concept of "being a better" Christian, which usually comes down to some type of conforming instead of being transformed.
Which puts all the focus on us and not Him.
Conforming is just changing a behavior or an image, whereas a transformation is a change in the nature of a being.
An example of transforming vs conforming is when Jesus changed the water to wine.
The shape didn't change, but the nature did!
Jesus becomes our life.
He came and died, rose again in resurrection power, and sent the Holy Spirit first to regenerate us into new people.
Then, He fills us with the Holy Spirit, restoring us to what our ancestor Adam gave up to show His love to the world.
His purpose for us is to be world changers through His transformation, not people who just get by and slide into heaven one day.
How have you been focused on being better instead of being His?
Can you describe a time when you experienced Jesus' power through you changing another person’s life?
What does living a life of trusting instead of trying look like to you?
Lord, forgive us for trying to improve instead of allowing You to live Your life through us as You have created us to do. May we get out of our own way so You can empower us to be world changers for Your kingdom. Amen
