For this, I labor, striving with His power and energy, which greatly works within me. Colossians 1:29
Striving with His Energy
If I walked up and found you cutting wood with an ax, how would I bring you rest?
Would it help if I coached you on your technique?
What if I told you to sharpen your ax?
How about I sing a song about chopping wood?
I could even suggest that you buy a chainsaw.
None of these would bring you rest.
You could only rest if I picked up the ax and took your place, supplying my energy for yours.
But for that to happen, you need to vacate your position!
That happens spiritually when we allow the Holy Spirit to supply His energy.
It isn't a lack of any activity within; it is a lack of our activity within.
To “let go and to let God” is not inactivity but Christ-activity—God in action accomplishing divine purposes through human personality. Ian Thomas
Have you been fruitful and obedient to God's leading, or are you worn out from your striving to obey?
Describe a season in your life when you knew God was supplying direction and power.
What was different in your journey then, and the outcomes?
Lord, You supply us with everything. Our breath, brains, direction, and energy. Find us in our hearts on our knees in total dependence upon Your supply. Amen
