But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God, who were born, not of blood nor the will of the flesh nor the will of man, but of God. John 1:12-13
His History Is Our History
Will an unrighteous person who does a righteous good deed be saved by that deed?
If not, why do we think that if we, as His children, commit an unrighteous deed, we become unrighteous?
Because as His followers, we often believe we are what we do or have done.
Truth: We aren’t what we've done; we’re what Jesus has done for us.
Spend time thinking about our freedom from His exchanging His life for ours.
His history is our history.
Our present is with Him.
He is our future.
Our identity is a child of our Abba Father.
What lies from your past are you allowing to identify you?
How would you love if you knew the depth of His perfect love?
Lord, Your love is perfect and perfectly transforming. The old is gone, the new is here, and we now have Your life abiding in us. Lead us to love others now that we can love ourselves as You do. Amen
