My Father’s Child
Prodigal Son's Story--at no time in the story was either son, not a son.
In every part of the story, the wandering child is a son.
From the start to the end of the story, he was his Father's son.
He was always a son, whether under his Father's roof obeying or out sloppin' with the pigs or returning home with his hat in his hand.
Being his Father's son was his identity.
In every part of the story, the obedient son was a son.
He was a son while working out of duty instead of love.
He was still a son while jealous of not getting away with what his brother did.
While living with unforgiveness due to the perceived injustice from his Father, he was a son.
Being his Father's son was his identity.
At what point should behavior line up with our identity?
Can our identity be a reality we never experience perfectly until we leave these mortal bodies?
Is it possible for something to be true, yet we don't experience it because of unbelief?
Is there a greater Reality than our current reality?
Faith Reveals Love
The only thing that matters is faith expressing itself in love, and love is expressed first to us and then through us.
The above story is about a loving father who extravagantly loves his sons and pursues them far and near because love needs expression.
Have you allowed the love of the Father to be expressed to you and through you?
Thank You, Father, for pursuing us when we are far from Your love, even though we may be in Your house. Express Your love to us and through us to others. Amen
