Look with wonder at the depth of the Father’s marvelous love that he has lavished on us! He has called us and made us his very own beloved children. The reason the world doesn’t recognize who we are is that they didn’t recognize him. 1 John 3:1
"From the moment we claim the truth of being the Beloved, we are faced with the call to become who we are." Henri Nouwen
Our Identity in Christ: Beloved
The more I interact with other Christians, it saddens me to see this is a core understanding that is missing with many believers.
We are the Beloved.
We must understand our identity in Christ to seek love in the right place.
When we understand that nothing can separate us from the love of God found in Jesus Christ, we are empowered to live in freedom and allow God to love others through us as He loves us.
Ask God to reveal His love for you so you can become who you are and fulfill the purpose for which He has designed and called you.
You and I are His beloved.
How have you been seeking your identity in your roles, such as a parent, church worker, employee, employer, or leader?
How might you have sought your identity through accomplishments, reputation, values, or status?
How have you allowed your past mistakes to identify you?
Lord, if there would only be one thing, may it be that I know, that is, experience Your perfect love for me so that I may love others perfectly, too. Amen
