Jesus told those Jews who believed in Him, "When you continue to embrace all that I teach, you prove that you are my true followers. If you embrace the truth, it will release true freedom into your lives." John 8:31-32
"You are the offspring of your Father, the devil, and you serve your Father very well, passionately carrying out his desires. He's been a murderer right from the start! He never stood with the truth, for he's full of nothing but lies—lying is his native tongue. He is a master of deception and the Father of lies! But I am the true Prince who speaks nothing but the truth, yet you refuse to believe and want nothing to do with me. John 8:44-45
Reality Check
As Jesus refers to in the eighth chapter of John, Truth comes from the Greek word (alḗtheia), which is synonymous with "reality" as the opposite of illusion, i.e., fact.
I am convinced that even many Christians have lost touch with Reality.
How do you respond when faced with trials, tribulations, conflicts, abuse, wrecked plans, detours, nasty traffic, wayward children, poor health, or adversity? (Not how you are supposed to respond but your actual words and actions)
What is your mental process and resulting action?
Do you question God's love for not coming through for you, blessing you, or providing for you?
Jesus is not a coping agent.
His job isn't to bless us or get us through the day.
Jesus is our life!
We live by the life of another.
This life is not our own.
WARNING!
Please sit down for the following line.
Be with a friend and have smelling salts available if needed.
This life isn't about you or me.
Whoa, I said it!
This doesn't decrease your value since God declared you are worth dying for.
This doesn't lessen your purpose; it only brings it into perspective.
It allows you to live in the freedom of becoming love and being led by the One Who loves you.
God's kingdom is our Reality.
God's kingdom is not this world.
We get the opportunity, the pleasure, and the privilege of ushering His kingdom into every crack and crevice of this world we encounter.
And God's kingdom is Love because He is Love.
Life begins when we finally realize the Reality we are called to live.
This world is not our home.
We are sojourners and ambassadors of our Father's love to everyone we encounter.
Ask Holy Spirit to reveal to you the fullness of Reality.
Lord, awaken us to the reality of Your kingdom of love. Sober us to Whose we are so we can walk in the fullness of purposeful love. Amen
