When He saw the throngs, He was moved with pity and sympathy for them, because they were bewildered (harassed and distressed and dejected and helpless), like sheep without a shepherd. Matthew 9:36
Shepherding Others
How often I've heard, "I would love church work if it weren't for the people".
Tragic.
For them, us, and His kingdom.
Are you called to be a shepherd?
Then you care for sheep. And what do we know about sheep?
They tend to wander.
They often need help finding greener pastures.
They are easy prey.
They need help finding their way home.
They need shepherds to guide, protect, provide, and love them.
Loving them is not our call or duty, but honor and privilege.
If you struggle to shepherd, spend more time with the Shepherd.
He will lead you by still waters to drink and lie down in green pastures to restore your soul.
He leads, then you follow, then you can lead.
We aren't transformed by serving Him but by spending time with Him.
How might you learn to practice His presence constantly?
What and where are some places that allow you to separate from the world and spend time with God?
Lord, what a privilege and honor to love others with Your love. Give us the wisdom to draw near to You and learn of You. Thank You for loving us. Amen
