Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, nakedness, danger, or sword? As it is written, “For your sake, we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:35-37
Step Down
To be victorious in life's challenges, you don't "step up" to the plate; you "step down" from your throne.
Our flesh will always try to get us to rally in the face of challenges.
Or go around, over, or under our challenges instead of through for His glory.
“You can do it!”
“What doesn’t kill you will make you stronger.”
And our worldly list grows the longer we live.
The Real Issue
The issue is always the origin of our actions. Not just the action.
The right thing from the wrong motive is still the wrong thing.
It won't last nor lead to victorious living because His heavenly will wasn't done, only an action.
His divine will is more than what, when, where, and why.
By Whom?
Who is empowering the action?
To Whom are you surrendered?
Is love empowering your life, or is it your flesh?
Know that God is glorified when Christ is living His life as us.
When we live from our identity as beloved children of a loving Father, we know He will provide everything we need to live.
This isn’t a rallying cry but a call to rest in Christ's finished work and His ongoing work, grace.
How have you learned to live by the Spirit instead of the flesh?
How do you know when God's power is living through you instead of your own?
How do you respond when God takes you through a challenge?
Lord, may only Your Spirit enable us in all things. Find us face down, with our hearts below our heads, bowed in awe of You. Amen
