But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things, there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
The Fruit Of The Holy Spirit
"The fruit of the Spirit is not seasonal." MBW
There isn’t a specific season for the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
It is always in season.
We are branches; we cannot produce it, only bear it.
There are no separate fruit(s) of the Holy Spirit.
You are not a "peace" tree, and I am not a "faithfulness" tree.
The fruit is an expression of Him, Who is love.
There are no circumstances, conditions, reasons, or excuses for the love of God in Christ. His love always is.
These are not acts we perform or do but are revealed in our "Therefore, as you go, disciple people in all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit."
This is our everyday walking around as we go life.
And the life we bear is His.
The good news is that we have a part in all of this, even though our doing is a passive surrender.
Imagine a branch of a vine.
The gardener tends to its health, the vine holds the branch, and the sap supplies the life.
The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The result is the fruit of Him Who lives in us.
In the presence of the Holy Spirit, ask:
Is Your life being revealed in mine?
In what ways am I trying to produce fruit instead of bearing it?
Lord, only the fruit of Your love matters in our lives. May we stop trying and start living as You love us and others to Your glory. Amen
