The mystery was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints. To them, God chose to make known how great among the Gentiles are the riches of the glory of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Colossians 1:26-27
Jesus Christ In You
"The mystery revealed is Jesus Christ in you, the hope of glory."
A favorite book of mine is "The Rest of the Gospel," which discusses this side of the Cross more.
In most of our Western church culture, we have camped out on one side of the Cross, which professes that Jesus Christ died for us so we can go to heaven when we die. This is a true doctrine. But there is more on the other side of the Cross.
The Now and Later of Life
Jesus gave His life for us to give His life to us.
He didn't just come that we may get into heaven, but to get heaven into us!
We are here now for His purpose, not just for a future event.
We are called to be fruitful and multiply.
And love is the fruit we multiply.
Christ is our hope of glory. (If you are one of us Southerners, glory is pronounced 'glow-ray')
How do we glorify God?
Expressing His Son's life, Who is love, to our world.
The miracle of this is Jesus not only lives His life through us but as us.
Jesus is our life.
How might you have allowed your relationship with Jesus to be about you instead of Him?
How can knowing you have a purpose now change all of your relationships?
Lord, You gave Your life for us to give Your life to us. Here we are yielded, have Your way, and glorify the Father through us. Amen
