The Paradoxical Ways of God

“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” Matthew 11:29

Life as a Christ follower will always be a learning process of depending less on our strengths and more on God's power. Lysa Terkeurst

Paradoxical Ways of God

Have you ever noticed how God works in what seems to be the opposite of how the "world" does things?

Maturing in Christ is the opposite of what happens in our "natural" life.

From birth, until we leave home, our parents teach us to depend upon ourselves.

But, from the time of new birth in Christ, until we leave this earth for "home," our heavenly Father teaches us to become more dependent upon Him and less dependent upon ourselves.

That is why the trials in our lives are so precious.

God uses them to put us in a position of dependence upon Him.

And there is no greater independence than dependence upon Him, Who loves us perfectly!

Oh, I love Him, but, His ways can be challenging, yet, I know that "Papa" knows what is best for me and His children.

He loves not as the world loves!

In what ways are your trials teaching greater dependence upon God?

Describe a time when a blessing came from a lesson God taught you.

Lord, Your ways are different than this world’s ways. Thank you for sharing your yoke so we may learn from You and receive your rest. Amen
