The council members were astonished as they witnessed the bold courage of Peter and John, especially when they discovered that they were just ordinary men who had never had religious training. Then they began to understand Jesus's effect on them simply by spending time with him. Acts 4:13
Courage comes through an abiding relationship, not knowledge.
“Then they began to understand Jesus's effect on them simply by spending time with Him.”
Who is "they"?
In this case, it was the council members.
In our day, it will be with whomever we spend time.
I have found that others will notice not only in our words but also in our very countenance time spent with Jesus.
Consider that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit. (1 Corinthians 6:9)
Then, in any room we walk into, we bring the very presence of God!
But, too often, we are inhibited by fear.
Fear we don't know enough scripture. Fear we haven't been good enough.
Fear is an immobilizer.
The enemy uses it to try to stop the advance of God's Good News.
Next time you are assaulted by the voices that accuse you of being an imposter, incompetent, or ignorant, remember you carry the very presence of the Most High God into the room you enter.
Remember that it will be evident if you spend ongoing time with Jesus.
You will need nothing more than Him.
Can you describe a time or season when time with Jesus resulted in more fruit?
Realizing that time with Him is about more than you, what difference will it make in your circles of influence?
What circumstances or relationships inhibit you from revealing God’s presence?
Lord, You have told us to delight ourselves in You, and You will give us the desires of our hearts. Reveal that You are the desire of our hearts. May it be evident to others that we love You. Amen
