"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will." (Romans12:2)
Good Questions:
Why are nickels bigger than dimes?
Why does Hawaii have an interstate highway?
Why doesn't Tarzan have a beard?
Why did the Flintstones celebrate Christmas?
Why do you drive on the parkway and park on the driveway?
Great Question:
Which of these leads your choices, fear or love?
Recently, I have been studying the contrast between fear and love.
In doing so, I have become acutely aware of how the enemy will use fear to influence decisions.
Sometimes, it may cloak itself in wisdom when it is just fear.
Fear of failure.
Fear of financial loss.
Fear of not being accepted.
Fear of losing approval.
Fear of appearing foolish.
So, where is the solution?
To conquer any foe, you must first identify them.
Set a tripwire in your mind by asking God to reveal when fear is trying to influence your decisions.
As long as fear drives my decisions, I conform to the pattern of worldly thinking.
My only hope is the continued transformation of my mind by Christ.
Believe His perfect love will cast out fear.
You can choose love instead of fear.
God is faithful when I ask Him to help me live in freedom; He does because it is only in freedom that I may live the life He desires for me to live for His glory.
The truth is often painful to journey through because it means I will often see barren and desolate landscapes.
But along the way, God is leading me beside still waters that He opens my eyes to see.
He shows me the snares of fear daily and gives me the courage to live in His love.
Fear is a tiny prison cell; only love sets you free and enlarges your territory.
As you read the above, what fears are illuminated?
Why does it take a transformed mind to recognize when fear is driving you?
Lord, may we know the depth of Your love intimately. Only Your love sets us free from fear! Amen
